Darude is the musical pseudonym used by the Finnish trance musician Ville Virtanen. Virtanen was born in Eura, Finland on July 17, 1975. Virtanen began making music in high school using basic music software on his PC. He developed the name Darude from a nickname that he picked up from a party where he repeatedly played a track called 'Rude Boy' by the Swedish musician Leila K. While attending technical school he contiuned to produce music and perfected his production techniques. Virtanen produced several demo's for radio stations and in 1999 gave a demo of 'Sandstorm' to producer Jaakko Salavaara. Salavaara signed Virtanen to his 16 Inch Record label and they released 'Sandstorm'...
