Monica Zdravkova Koleva (born November 17, 1994), is a Bulgarian singer, songwriter and youtuber.  All her life she has been into music, but at the age of 15 she began teaching herself to sing trough youtube vocal lessons. In 2011 she posted her first video cover of “Perfect” by Pink. At the end of 2013 she decided to start doing something for her career by herself and she began making covers of popular songs and started posting them at her youtube trying  to grow her channel, build her own audience and engage with her fans. She also started writing her own original songs. At June 26, 2015 she uploaded self-made official video of her debut single “Tonight Is Ours” at her YouTube channel. At October 25th she uploaded self-made music video of her second single from her debut mixtape, “She”.  At December 8, 2015 she released her debut self-made mixtape called “She”, which was recorded at her home  studio. She learned to sing, dance, record her own music and videos  all because of YouTube. So youtube was her teacher for a variety of stuff.

Early life
Monica Koleva was born on November 17,1994 in Rousse, Bulgaria, the only child of Zdravko and Milena Kolevi.  She gratued in 2013 “Apostol Arnaudov” Highschool in her hometown.

Career

In late 2011 she joined a local vocal group “Slantse” who was formed by Natalia Konstantinova.
She performed in her hometown for events trough the years.

In 2013 she was working on songs “Everytime” , “When We Are Together” and “Take Me Anywhere” with a producer from DYP STUDIOS (Albequerque, New Mexico). She was recording her vocals from her home and sending them to the producer to mix them. The songs stayed unreleased.

In early 2015 she attended online contest for singers “BG Talanti”, posting a cover of “Sia – Chandelier” and became one of the finalists. The next step of the contest  was everyone of the finalist to make an original song and a video, so she written and recorded her first debut single “Tonight Is Ours’’ at her home studio and made a lyric video for it. Later she released self-made music video of the single at her YouTube channel. She won 2nd place in the contest.

In November, 2015 she attended international competition for singers “Nothern Radiance” (Severno Sianie), formed by Vili Ikonomov, in her hometown Rousse where she sang “If I Ain’t Got You” by Alicia Keys and “Za tebe biah” by Lili Ivanova. She won second prize at fourth group.

In December 2nd, 2015 she released a snippet of her debut mixtape, “She”.

Artistry
Musical Style and voice

Monica Koleva writes and records at her home studio all of her original music and covers of popular hits. She also directs, films and edits her videos for her YouTube channel.  She describes her musical style as a mixture of Urban , Pop, R&B , Pop- Dance and Hip-Hop.
In 2014 she began working in local Internet club and started raising money for equipment. She was really inspired  by Tinashe and how she recorded her music in her home studio. So aslong as she got enough money needed for equipment, she bought a new microphone, reflection filter and sound card and she began to teach herself trough youtube tutorials how to record and mix music in FL Studio.

Influences
Monica Koleva was inspired by a variety of artist. She cites Rihanna, Christina Aguilera, Michael Jackson, Drake, The Weeknd and Tinashe as her influences.
